Letsbeclearaboutit retained his unbeaten record over fences when making it two from two in an impressive success in the Grade 3 Paddy Power Feel Like A Favourite Irish EBF Novice Chase at Cork.
Gavin Cromwell 's eight-year-old rose through the ranks over hurdles last season, finishing fourth in Grade 1 novice contests at both the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals.
Switched straight to chasing this term, the Alymer Stud owned gelding opened his account in facile fashion when easily winning at Gowran Park on his debut in September.
Pitched into graded company on just his second start, Cromwell's gelding always travelled strongly under Sean Flanagan here before heading leader Solness early in the straight. Mighty Tom emerged from the pack to look a real threat at the penultimate fence but once push came to shove, he had no answer to the far superior winner.
Merely allowed coast home from the back of the last, Letsbeclearaboutit had ten lengths in hand at the finish.
Gavin Cromwell said: “He was very good and looks an out-and-out chaser. You’d have to be excited by him and it was very straight-forward for Sean (Flanagan); 11st 2lb is Keith's (Donoghue) minimum weight so he missed the ride.
“We’ll probably give him a Drinmore entry, it’s four weeks away, and that’s what’s on my mind at the moment. I don’t think he needs to go three miles, as he has plenty of gears and he loves jumping."
He added "it’s been a great few weeks. We’ll probably run out of ammunition at some point, but we’ll enjoy it while it lasts.”
