An unwell Colm O'Donoghue missed out on the winning ride on Seanie in the South Western Scrap Metal Handicap at Listowel. His loss was man-in-form Billy Lee 's gain as he deputised in the plate aboard the victorious Kodiac gelding.
Lee made all on the 10/1 chance and the now three time winner kept on well from over a furlong out to defeat Harry's Princess by a length and three parts.
Winning trainer David Marnane commented: "It's great to have a winner here in Listowel. Damian (Lavelle, winning owner) came all the way from Belmullet so it was worth the journey.
"He'll run next in Tipperary in about two weeks time. He liked Dundalk last year so he'll probably campaign a bit there as well."
Unfortunately Elusive Ridge seemed to go wrong entering the straight and he was soon pulled up by Wayne Lordan. (TW & EM)
