Outsider of the sextet that lined up for the Perennial Freight Handicap, By Your Side came from last to first to claim victory under Leigh Roche.
Sent off 15/2 (from 10s on the show), the Lope De Vega gelding made good headway on the outer racing out of the dip and led inside the final furlong to beat Yokkell by two-and-a-half lengths.
Three times a winner on the Flat when trained by Ed Dunlop, Kieron Gammell's five-year-old was recording his second win for Gordon Elliott for whom he won a maiden hurdle at Navan last year.
Assistant to Elliott, Ian 'Busty' Amond remarked: "He is after winning a good few now and is a grand dual-purpose horse for Kieron, he always has something in the yard. He has been unlucky in a few decent hurdles, so it's grand to get his head back in front.
"He'll just keep mixing it now between the two. He was freshened up after the last day (at Cork in June) and will be kept going now. Hopefully there might be a nice hurdle in him somewhere along the line."
