“He saw the lorry park and decided to disappear,” Jessica Harrington quipped upon watching 9/4 favourite Knightsone hang badly left in winning division two of the bumper at Roscommon.

The four-year-old came wide into the home straight and hit the front two furlongs out. However, in the last half furlong he veered left all the way across to the stands-side rail. He still had two and three parts of a length in hand though as Katie Harrington kept him up to his work.

“I so nearly withdrew him because he hates that ground. He ran really badly in heavy ground at Navan,” Jessica Harrington added.

“He was so good last time and he coped with it today. He was very green. She (Katie) meant to go out but not so far.

“He might go for a winners’ bumper. If he gets better ground I think he’ll win one. He’s only really learning now.” Rosetub ran much much better than her odds of 33/1 suggested she would. She led and plotted her course home along the inner rail. She was best of the rest. Flanagans Field was placed on his first bumper outing for Dessie Hughes at 5/1.
