Just four runners have been declared for the feature at Killarney this evening, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race, with Postulation the stand out name.
The Dermot Weld-trained gelding won his maiden over the course and distance last season and he finished just a length off Derby hope Success Days at Cork on his first start as a three-year-old.
The son of Harlan's Holiday made all of the running to win at Dundalk last time out and he is sure to be well fancied here with Pat Smullen in the saddle. Bertie Le Belge beat the smart Cape Clear Island on his debut at the Curragh last year and looks the main danger.
The Ger Lyons-trained bay was disappointing on his last start at Dundalk in October but dropping in class now he should give a good account of himself. Cradle Mountain was well beaten at Leopardstown on Sunday and he is tried in blinkers for the first time now.
David Wachman 's Nasution completes the line-up and he is not without his chance. Altruistic who finished third in the Group One Racing Post Trophy in 2013, makes his return to action in the concluding www.killarneyraces.ie Race.
The Tom Hogan-trained colt is stepped up to a mile and six for the first time and it will be interesting to see how he gets on with Wayne Lordan in the saddle. Tigris River won on his maiden over the course and distance and he looks a danger along with the Weld-trained Good Tradition who has not been seen since April of last year.
The Celtic Steps Show At Killarney Racecourse (C & G) Maiden gets proceedings under way and Hobart Knockmaole Boy and Mutadhamen appear the three to focus on here. Angel Bay Out Of Context and Love Rosie all ran well first time out and they are the stand-out names in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Fillies Maiden.
French import Daydor is an interesting runner in the Bet Online At thetote.com Handicap.
The Tony Martin trained-gelding is a full brother to stablemate Mydor and with Fran Berry booked to ride he should go well. Sacrificial won a maiden at Leopardstown recently and he carries top weight, while Duca Valentinois and Pullman Brown are others to consider. Rockview Emperor finished a good second to Breenainthemycra at Clonmel last week and looks the one to side with in the Ross Golf Course Handicap. Mozetta and Jocular are interesting handicap debutants in the Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Handicap, while the in-foal Pushkar is another for the shortlist.
