Anngrove Stud, County Laois-based twenty four year old stallion, Rudimentary has always been capable of siring a nice type and he is responsible for another promising sort in Kick On Boss victorious in the concluding Blue Moose After Racing INH Flat Race at Gowran.
Another 'beano' for the layers, following on from Dante Anna in the previous heat, newcomer Kick On Boss went off a 25/1 shot but he was much too powerful for Willie Mullins' Super Mix inside the final quarter mile, eventually winning by five and a half lengths under Sonny Carey.
The well-backed market-leader, Our Native Land was struggling from before the straight and he eventually came home a well-beaten fourth.
A big gamble on the local mare, Annas Back went badly astray, as the 'Corky' Carroll ridden first-timer, supported from 25/1 this morning into 5/1, ultimately faded to finish last.
Willie McCreery trains Kick On Boss for the Try Another Syndicate and he explained: "He's a grand big horse. The lads couldn't sell him as a three-year-old and I only have him three months.
"He came to hand quicker than normal. I was a bit worried about the ground but he's a grand big honest horse." (TW & EM)
