Fromajacktoaking owned by the Named By Colm Partnership (which refers to Colm Murray) and trained by Paul Deegan, has been a tremendous servant to connections and he made it three-in-a-row in the Irish Field Nursery Handicap at the Curragh.
Ronan Whelan has been aboard for all the successes and here the top-weight showed a brilliant attitude to get up and beat Gathering Power by half a length.
Deegan said: "He's so tough and genuine and such a likeable horse. It's amazing really that he should start to improve after about five races.
"Ronan said he only just got away with the six furlongs today as he is really a seven furlong or a mile horse.
"I've said all along that the Birdcatcher was the main target but we may have to re-access that now as he really does need a longer trip
Ronan Whelan picked up a two day suspension for using his whip with excessive frequency.
