Trees Valley was a ready winner of division two of the mares' handicap hurdle at Listowel.

The 9/2 favourite took over after the third last in this two and a half mile contest and had her pursuers in trouble at the next.

She increased the advantage racing to the final flight and popped it to come in by four and a quarter lengths.

Porterhouse kept on for second at 33/1 and she was four and a half lengths clear of Estijmaam (12/1).

Trainer Liam Burke said: "It's nice to get a winner at Listowel as it's hard to get a winner down here.

"The last day was my fault as I told Donagh (Meyler) he had to make it and there was a right charge down to the first and he had to ride her hard to take it up and she ran with the choke out afterwards and didn't get home. She settled lovely for him today.

"She has an issue with her wind and, while she doesn't make a noise, she just gets caught and loves that ground.

"I always thought a good bit of her and couldn't get her right last year but I had her half-sister Twin Plan and the same thing happened; we let her go and she won six races for James Lambe afterwards. She was seven before she did anything so maybe they are a late maturing family.

"There may be a nice hurdle in her and she will be good over fences as she won a point-to-point."

Trees Valley has been victorious in three of her last four appearances.
