Sequoiaspirit showed he is still a step in front of the assessor when bringing up his hat-trick in the ladies' handicap at Tipperary.

The four-year-old gelding won under Paddy Harnett in Limerick and Killarney and Aine O'Connor came in for the ride in this ladies' race.

Her mount chased Call Me Dolly into the home straight in this extended mile and a half race and the pair pulled clear of the field in the final quarter of a mile.

The well backed 7/2 favourite Call Me Dolly was first to come under the whip a furlong and a half from home as Sequiospirit got on terms.

The latter took a fractional advantage racing into the final furlong and moved on in the final 100 yards. He won going away from Call Me Dolly by two and a half lengths at 4/1 from 6/1. Extensio kept on for third (beaten over five lengths by the winner) at 9/2 from double those odds in the morning.

Trainer Ray Hackett said: “I thought Aine gave him a smashing ride, had him in the right position and it worked out lovely.

“I was a bit worried about the ground until I walked it this morning and I thought we’d be ok. For us in the jumping game that’s gorgeous ground.

“We might go to Listowel and if not we might hold him for another race in this series at Naas. Today was the plan and it’s nice to get that over the line.”
