By New Approach out of Eva’s Request Imperial Choice certainly has it on breeding and she’s beginning to make up for lost time on the win count with another success in the McGrath Limestone Works Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
After debuting back in June 2018 when in the Lady Bamford colours for Michael Bell cross-channel, it took her until last Saturday at Tramore to shed the maiden tag.
However the Come Home Sober Syndicate-owned and Charles Byrnes-trained five-year-old has the winning habit now, and here she ran out a convincing seven length winner in the hands of Cathal Landers. Favourite Dawson’s Cottage finished second.
Landers was in the plate at Tramore as well and he said: “Her confidence is up after the win but that was a weak enough race.”
The chestnut had got a seven pound rise for Tramore and she was 2Ibs ‘well-in’ here under her mandatory penalty.
Jack Wildman was injured in a fall from Song Of Namibia at the third flight. He was reported to be fully conscious and transferred to hospital in Castlebar.
