Fran Berry brought up a double in Tramore when guiding Henry's Girl to victory in race five - the Christine Hadfield Memorial Handicap over a mile and a half.

The 2/1 favourite was the last of the five runners to come off the bridle and it stood her in good stead at the business end of the race.

She initially raced in rear but was well in touch with leader Bobskier The six-year-old mare made smooth progress into second on the approach to the final quarter of a mile as the jockeys on board the other four horses got more than active.

She soon got a lovely gap between Bobskier on the rail and Carried and eased her way to the front.

On the home turn Berry pushed her along and she went for home. With 100 yards to race she was clear and hit the line two and three quarter lengths up on Carried (8/1).

Trainer John Kiely said: "We needed to be patient with her. She is probably better over a mile and a half than she was over two. She didn't quite get two. She has kept on improving. She was a little bit unlucky at Tipperary, she didn't jump out of the stalls. Hopefully she can keep creeping up the handicap."

Elis Gury (coughing) and What Lies Ahead (in season) were non runners and reduced this race to five runners.
