Harold's Cross wins with ease
The Australian bred Harold's Cross in the colours of JP McManus ran out an easy winner of the Killarney Outlook Handicap Chase, coming home ten lengths clear of the second placed horse Marathon Leader
On his handicap chase debut the son of Galileo finally got his head in front after eleven previous attempts. However the manner in which he won here suggested it won't take as long for him to win again, as he raced clear approaching the last and stayed on well to win easily at the finish.
The winning 5/1 joint favourite was ridden by Alan Crowe for trainer Christy Roche, with the other joint favourite Nans Best finishing fifteen lengths back in third.
Racing manager for JP McManus, Frank Berry said afterwards: "The blinkers helped him and he jumped away well, although it probably wasn’t the strongest of races.
"We will try and find something similar for him now (holds an entry in Tipperary on Thursday) and he will be kept on the go for the summer."
