We had a second odds-on winner in as many races at Dundalk, and a double for Michael Halford, when Zinat landed the Elusive Pimpernel Fillies Maiden (Plus 10 Race).
Pat Smullen wore the red cap of the Aga Khan on Zinat, whilst Derek McCormack on the Dermot Weld-trained Katouna in the same ownership, was in the first colours.
Katouna, a newcomer, ran well to finish third, but Zinat was very professional in following up her second placing from four weeks back. Secret Memories was the one to give 4/7 chance Zinat most to do, but there were two and a quarter lengths between them at the line.
Smullen soon had Zinat dictating, and she was asked for more a furlong and a half out on the way to this success.
Halford, earlier on the mark with Chestnut Fire said: "She is very straight forward, and the experience of the run helped her.
"It's nice to get a winning bracket and we'll probably see what the handicapper does with her. She is very genuine.
"She's not short of a bit of pace and she can jump out and travel. A mile is far enough for her at the moment."
The Stewards interviewed P.J. Smullen, rider of Zinat, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards took no further action.
