Ocean Glandore recorded his second staying handicap win this season and, just like his victory at Ballinrobe in June, there wasn't much to spare in taking the J F Hanley Handicap Hurdle at Roscommon.

Trained and ridden by Denis Hogan, the 7/1 chance took over from the front-running reserve Scamall Dubh at the penultimate flight.

However he was being stalked all the time by 7/2 favourite Na Trachtalai Abu and the pair fought out a tremendous finish on the run-in.

Hogan's mount just held on by a head, with Tipped Up Harry four lengths back in third and Point Of Rescue in fourth.

Hogan said, "He's as tough as nails. He was there a bit soon but had to be as he lacks a gear. He made hard work of it and idled in front. Good jumps over the last three sealed it.

"The bit was behind the bridle the whole way but there is always a bit there when you go for him. He'll probably go chasing now. He was going quite well in a chase before when he fell.

"I'm delighted. All the horses are running really well."
