Getgo delights Clarke with Dundalk win

Getgo certainly didn’t go un-backed as a 10/1 chance for the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap at Dundalk, and he delivered for trainer Keith Clarke and jockey Gearoid Brouder.
A second winner for Excelebration on the day, after Reverberation in the opener, Getgo tracked the leaders and he was third at the halfway stage.
Ridden to lead two furlongs out, the successful six-year-old was strongly pressed and kept on inside the final furlong, holding on well by half a length from Roman Warrior
“I'm delighted, this time about two years ago it was similar as he hit form and was consistent in his runs,” said Clarke.
“I'm delighted for the owner Karl Davis who has been very patient with me and things have come right.
“I'm delighted to get it especially in the circumstances, with the way things are, as we don't know if racing is going to go ahead next week.
“The horse was crying out to run and I'm delighted he got in. I was going to enter him last week for the mile-and-a-half race but the fact that this came up I said I'd run him here.
“I knew he'd get in after his ballot mark the last day and it all worked out great.”
James J. Doyle, rider of Mithmaar trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got a bit short of room in the latter stages of this race.
S. Foley, rider of Nanafullam trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never let herself down.
