Gambled landed on Carlito Brigante

Carlito Brigante (7/1 to 9/2) landed a gamble for the David Wachman stable thanks to a strong drive from Johnny Murtagh in the Maple Handicap at Leopardstown.

The Kevin Prendergast trained Rantavan Wood looked the likely winner when travelling strongly in the straight, but Murtagh got a determined response from Carlito Brigante who wore down his rival in the closing stages to win by a short head.
