Galway on agenda for improving Treat

Super Treat completed a quick follow-up success when running out a convincing winner of the seven-furlong handicap at Leopardstown tonight.

The Tim Doyle-trained gelding had opened his account in fine style in a maiden at Fairyhouse on Sunday and defied a 6lb penalty for that victory.

Chris Hayes produced the 2/1 to lead well inside the final furlong and he went on to record a three-length success over Arabeska

“He's an improving horse and he's just coming to himself,” said Doyle.

I was hoping he would do that. I stuck him in the seven-furlong race at Galway on the Sunday. He wasn't going to get in off the mark he was on so we had to run today to see could we get in.

“He's good off a bend so he's entitled to take his chance there. He's coming on in leaps and bounds.

“It's hard to know coming from a maiden to a handicap how you are handicapped but I was hoping for the best.

“Chris just said he wouldn't want it any quicker than it is out there but he doesn't want it soft either. He has lovely turn of foot and I'd if it went soft that it would knock that out of him.”
