Outsider Fox Dream just got the better of Dance Alone in the first divide of the Ladies Day At Roscommon On Monday 9th July 2018 Handicap.
Without a win since June of 2016, the Austin Leahy trained four-year-old was sent off at 33/1 having finished down the field on her return to action at Cork last month.
Settled in mid-division by Shane Crosse, the daughter of Foxwedge was ridden from two furlongs out, and soon came with her challenge.
She edged to the front in the closing stages, just getting the better of the 9/4 favourite Dance Alone by a neck. Cosmic Symbol (16/1), who won this race twelve months ago, kept on well to finish third, another length back under Ross Coakley for George Webb.
"She wasn't a bad filly as a two-year-old when she won and was placed a couple of times," said Leahy.
"She lost her way a little bit then maybe and the firm ground may have helped. She'll probably be in at Limerick again on Saturday over six-and-a-half."
