Trainer Darren Bunyan has black-type aspirations for his Flower Of May following the filly’s win in the Hospitality At Naas Racecourse Maiden at Naas today.

Ridden by Leigh Roche, the daughter of Iffraaj improved to lead inside the final furlong before scoring a length and a quarter win over Voge

Afterwards Bunyan said “she got bogged down the last day in the Curragh but needed the run for experience anyway. She's never shown us to be anything bar a black-type filly at home, and I'd have been very disappointed if she hadn't won today.

"If she is not sold, we will be looking for some black type with her next year and I'm delighted for the syndicate and that's their first winner. It's (Do Well Syndicate) named after a horse that my father looked after years ago that won the Irish St Leger."

Do Well, under jockey Liam Ward, won the 1951 St Leger for multiple Champion Flat Jockey Morny Wing, which his only classic win as a trainer.
