Colin Keane was seen at his best in winning on John Murphy's Fall For A Kiss in division two of the Killarney Outlook Handicap over an extended mile.

From stall 18, the pair had no option but to tuck in at the back of the field. Keane rode the Dark Angel mare cold before switching her out in the home straight.

She came widest of all and made relentless progress between the two pole and the one pole. Keane was in the drive position as his mount raced second behind All The Mollies inside the final furlong.

She swept past the leader in the final 150 yards and was driven out to score by a length and a half.

The 16/5 shot was very heavily backed from as big as 10/1 during the day to 11/2 on opening show. This was a double for Keane who won the opener on Probe (6/4 favourite).

The trainer's son, and assistant trainer, George Murphy said: "She had a few bits of pieces of decent form, she had come down the ratings and Colin was class on her. He rode her very cold and she latched on it and won well in the end.

"She might go to the July Sales."

The Stewards requested a report from John Joseph Murphy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Fall For A Kiss, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. George Murphy, Authorised representative for the trainer stated that his charge may not have faced the cheek pieces and was badly drawn last time out at Gowran on the fifth of May. He added that the removal of the head gear and a change of tactics, to a very patient hold up ride had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
