After saddling winners at both Fairyhouse on Wednesday and Leopardstown yesterday trainer Pat Flynn continued his winning streak this afternoon as his Faleena took the 3yo Trim Handicap with Danny Grant in the saddle.
The grey daughter of Verglas was having her seventh career start today and after running consistently well so far in her career she was expected to go off near favouritism.
However having opened at 5/1 this morning she drifted and opened on track at 7/1 before drifting further out to 9/1 at the off.
The money came for the Paul Deegan trained Red Sea Poll who opened at 9/2 this morning but was returned the 3/1 favourite under Chris Hayes.
She disappointingly finished a well beaten tenth of the thirteen runners at the finish.
The Adrian McGuinness trained Ultra Steps took up the running at the halfway stage but was headed by the winner over two furlongs from home and she kept on well under pressure from there to score by half a length.
Ultra Steps kept on well to take second at 11/1 under Ian Brennan while 7/1 shot Kanes Pass was a further half a length back in third under Kevin Manning for Willie McCreery.
Winning owner Bridie Cooney from Roscommon was represented by her daughters Niamh and Lorraine and Lorraine said afterwards: "We had our fingers crossed today and its class to get a win.
"Mum is at home minding her first grandchild. She has two or three horses with Pat Flynn and Jeangeorges has won a few times for her."
