Elwazeer defies 15lbs hike

The David Nagle trained Elwazeer which landed a gamble on his handicap debut at the course a fortnight ago, defied the handicapper’s 15lbs rise taking the Group Discounts At Dundalk Handicap (div 2) at Dundalk this evening.

Ridden again by Wayne Lordan, the gelding stayed on strongly on the outer in the straight to eventually defeat Elusive Express

Afterwards Nagle said “Elwazeer had to do it the hard way from that draw but won well and obviously likes this place. He’ll be back here in a few weeks again.”
