Swingbridge continues to make strides relatively late in life and extended his unbeaten record for new trainer Gordon Elliott to two wins at Tramore today, landing the opening Womens Irish Network Beginners Chase under jockey Davy Russell.

The nine year old son of Milan had previously managed three British point to point wins (two in 2015 and another last April) but, having been bought in June for just £5,500, was today adding his first chase win to a hurdle win on debut for Elliott at Perth on August 2.

Today Russell’s mount got the better of a tight battle with Swift on the run-in, for a short head win.

Afterwards Elliott’s assistant Ian ‘Busty’ Amond stated “he was a cheap purchase from England and he is two from two for us now. He will mix it between hurdles and fences, and will more than pay his way."
