The Bar One Racing Guaranteed Overnight Prices Hurdle went along expected lines at Navan with Gordon Elliott responsible for the first two home. Set Point (5/1) threatened danger down over the closing couple of flights in this near two miler, but winner and odds-on favourite Amir Kabir (8/13 into 8/15) had matters well in hand come the line under Jack Kennedy.
Not always seamless in the jumping stakes from his position at the head of affairs, the Stephen O'Connor-owned now seven time scorer found more than enough when required.
He ended up beating his aforementioned stable companion by four and a quarter lengths, with nine lengths to the Mullins runner Nyiri in third.
"It was a good opportunity for him. He will mix and match," said Elliott in the aftermath.
"I think he could step up in trip, he stays well and I think he probably wants two and half miles I'd say.
"He had a good run in the Galway Hurdle, it was probably a bit short for him, and he had a great run in a charity race at the Curragh.
"Maybe a two mile Flat race or two and a-half miles over hurdles, but I have no real plan."
On plans for Set Point meanwhile he remarked: "He might have a little break and bring him back for the spring."
