Beacon Edge (11/4) recorded his first win since the Drinmore Chase of 2021 when taking the He'llberemembered Hurdle.
Pushed along in third approaching the straight, the Doyen gelding was ridden and looked held in second on the run to the last as Cash Back continued in front but the nine-year-old found a bit more on the run-in to wear down the leader for a length and a quarter victory.
Five times a winner for Noel Meade, Beacon Edge was starting out here for Gordon Elliott and completed doubles for the trainer, Gigginstown House Stud and Jack Kennedy after Brighterdaysahead
Kennedy said: "I had ridden him just once - schooling over hurdles at home, that was all, and he is a great jumper.
"He took off on the run down to the last and I think there will be improvement fitness-wise too.
"Hopefully he continues going the right way and can get back to some of his best form."
