Carlesimo made odds-on backers sweat in the opener but those who took 2/5 about Honoria for the Wexford Hire Maiden never really had any cause for concern as she made all on the way to a six length success under Johnny Murtagh.

The Meath man said of his sole mount of the evening, "She won the way we expected her to win. She is a proper filly and it's nice for her to lose her maiden status. She should progress on to better things in the second half of the season."
