Duroob creates Plenty of Excitement
The success of Duroob in the D & S Hardware 10th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle produced some memorable post race comments. Oliver Brady employed Matthew Bowes to the steering on this flat-bred, the 20/1 shot running out an eight length winner from one of the joint market leaders, Do You Follow Me
For Bowes, from Galway, this was a first winner in recent times and now he competes as an amateur having been seven years a professional. The twenty-seven-year-old said, "I went at the buildings and when they went bust I came back at this job."
Brady meanwhile commented, "I knew he was a cert and this is my first winner at Kilbeggan. My health is good now and if God wants me he'll take me. Blood pressure, heart attacks and cancer won't stop me." (EM)
