The Seamus-Fahey trained Kalanisi Dubh justified some good support in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Clonmel when running out a convincing winner.

Kevin Sexton 's mount travelled well to take a narrow lead going to the second last flight but there was a scare there as she stumbled at the back of the flight.

The 6/1 shot (12/1 this morning) was asked to assert before the final flight and soon settled matters, going on to post a nine length verdict over Star Official

"We had her in the 0-95 handicap hurdle later on but she didn't get in, although it was probably a blessing as she probably wouldn't have got the 2m3f in that ground. We had a little luck,” said Fahey.

"She travelled well, won comfortably enough and you either go on that ground or you don't and she was one of the lucky ones today. Hopefully the handicapper doesn't lose the run of himself now.

“She disappointed at Limerick on her last run but if she is ok after this, will run somewhere over Christmas.

"She won in Down Royal on St Stephen's Day last year when getting in a reserve and we will possibly go there again.

"(Owners) Michael and Sean Allen are father and son, are from down the road from me in Kildangan and this is great to get."
