We had a third winner in as many races at Ballinrobe with Galway connections as the Milltown-owned Aerlite Supreme (8s into 5s) brought up a 35/1 double for Michael Hourigan in the P & D Lydon Plant Hire Rated Hurdle.
Like the Hourigan winner in the first, Holeinthewall Bar Adrian Heskin was in the plate on Aerlite Supreme too but the game looked up for the Gold Well gelding when Usa moved up with real menace under Robbie Colgan before the last.
Usa soon edged ahead but Aerlite Supreme stays a lot further than this two miles and he battled back to edge it by a neck.
They left the disappointing even money favourite Noble Inn two and three parts of a length back in third.
Hourigan reflected: "I didn't think he'd win but he put his head down. I thought the trip would be a bit short.
"He's not the easiest to train as he's a bit hot in himself. There's been plenty of races he should have won and maybe it was down in immaturity.
"The ear-plugs we put in the last day were in again today although I forgot to put the tongue-strap on. I'm not sure now whether to put that back on him the next time!
"Hopefully he'll go to Punchestown now. We'll try and find something for him there but he's not entered in any of the big races.
"Chasing will be his game." (DM & EM)
