With the defections of Don't Back Down, Flycorn and Taraval just six went to post for 2m 6f Bet With The Tote Hurdle with the 4/6 favourite Terminal coming out on top as the rain poured down.
Trained by Willie Mullins the French bred gelding was providing his rider Ruby Walsh with a double on the card having scored in the opener aboard Back to Balloo.
The 5yo son of Passing Gale made all but was challenged at the second last by 8/1 shot Beachdale Lad for Jessica Harrington and Tommy Treacy.
However he pulled out more when driven out by Ruby Walsh and went on to score by three lengths at the line from Beachdale Lad back in second.
The pair went nine and a half lengths clear of the third, who was the 7/2 second favourite Rising Time for Paul Nolan and Mikey Doran.
The winner was having his fourth run for Mullins this afternoon since coming from France.
He won his maiden hurdle on his Irish debut at Navan in January before finishing third on his next start at Fairyhouse in February behind Galileo’s Choice.
He was last seen finishing a well beaten fourth in the novice hurdle won by Oscara Dara at the Punchestown Festival.
After the race winning rider Ruby Walsh commented on the dreadful conditions saying: "I couldn’t see a thing coming down to the fourth last with the rain."
