Dollar And A Dream stayed on powerfully on the run-in to get up for Shane Shortall in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Galway.

The 7/2 favourite must have caused his supporters some worrying moments as he was fully 10th jumping the second last flight as Tribes And Banner led approaching the home bend.

Shortall worked his mount into fifth jumping the last where Tribes And Banner made a mistake while being pressed by Afatcat

Afatcat soon took over upon landing but Dollar And A Dream responded well to Shortall and made ground hand over fist to collar him in the final 100 yards. He won going away by three and a half lengths.

Stephen Mahon 's Afatcat kept on for second at 20/1. He was three lengths in front of stablemate Lost Book (8/1).

Trainer Tony Martin said: "He needs to be ridden with confidence. Shane was very good on him, and that was a Ruby Walsh or Paul Carberry job.

"That's the track for him, going up the hill and they are coming back to him. On quicker ground they don't come back to you. He's a chaser in the making."

This was Martin's fifth winner at this year's Galway Festival.
