It was all very straightforward for Deepone in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Race, with the Paddy Twomey-trained bay coming home three-and-a-half lengths to the good under Billy Lee.

Successful on debut at Leopardstown in May, the Study Of Man colt was widely expected to follow-up this evening and was sent off the clear market leader at 1/6 (1/3 in early shows).

Sent straight to the front, the Vimal Khosla-owned victor made all and had all his rivals off the bridle with over two-furlongs to race.

Ridden inside the final furlong, he comfortably saw off the effort of Nor Time Nor Tide (9/2), with that one running a fine race on debut, stretching four-and-a-half lengths clear of third.

"He was well in himself and we wanted to educate him. That's why we came here for a race like that," Twomey, who was recording his third winner from three runners at the Killarney July Festival, commented.

"You'd be very happy with the way he did it and he did it differently today racing from the front. It wasn't ideal to make the running and he was further back the last day.

"We haven't done a lot with him since the last day and Billy said he was fresh and would have been better with a lead.

"I'm in no great hurry after today, I think he is a nice horse and we'll see how he is. I put him in whatever upcoming (big) races that suit and when he is ready, we'll go again.

"He is a tall horse, is from a staying pedigree, I think he will stay 10-furlongs or 1m 4f next year and I'd like to mind him."
