De Bromhead dominates at Down Royal

Henry de Bromhead trained a one/two in a handicap chase at Wexford on Wednesday and he repeated that feat at Down Royal tonight. It got even better for de Bromhead as the first and second came about in the valuable thetote.com Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase and it also brought up a double for the Waterford outfit after their earlier win with Three Stars
Andrew Lynch won Three Stars, but he had to settle for the runner-up berth on this occasion, as Never Complain went down by two and a quarter lengths to the Niall 'Slippers' Madden partnered Elegant Statesman (12/1).
In the J P McManus silks 'Slippers' said: "It's a good day for Henry - one over hurdles and one over fences. They are just knocking the top off the ground. My horse seemed to enjoy it.
"He did it well and stayed all the way to the line. I'd say ground is his main factor."
