9/4 second favourite Dark Spark left his eight rivals for dead from a furlong and a half out in the concluding Kilbeggan INH Flat Race.
Taken out of a couple of recent engagements as connections waited for suitable ground, the Presenting 4-year-old out of crack hurdler Voler La Vedette rewarded that patience with an emphatic fifteen length debut win from Rathnure Rookie with the 4/9 favourite Dads Lad well held back in third.
It was a near 60/1 treble on the day for winning trainer Gordon Elliott who said: “He's a nice horse and he has a great pedigree.
“He'll only come on from it as he's still a baby. We think he's nice and he's been showing us the right signs at home.
“I'd imagine we'll keep to bumpers, he won't go jumping hurdles at this time of year.”
