The daughter of Captain Rio had no problems with the heavy ground today as she produce her challenge and moved into the lead over a furlong from home. She stayed on well from there to score by a length and a quarter at the odds of 11/2. Balladiene was best of the rest back in second at 14/1 while Parc Aux Boules stayed on well to take third at 8/1 a further half a length back.
The 3/1 favourite, Ashton Rose for Tracey Collins with Danny Benson aboard, finished a disappointing sixth of the twelve runners.
Paul Coyle (who helped re-saddle Knights Templar before the race, when it was discovered he had the wrong number cloth on) was representing the winning trainer Paul Deegan and he said afterwards: "She was overdue that.
"She is very honest and hopefully she will win another one in her own grade. She loves that ground."
