Dabadiyan landed the odds in workman-like fashion in Her Majesty's Plate at Down Royal this evening.
The well-supported 4/6 favourite (best priced 13/8 this morning) tackled front-runner Royal Irish Hussar two furlongs out and hit the lead rounding the elbow.
He kept on inside the final furlong of the mile-and-a-half contest, under Declan McDonogh, to score by three-parts-of-a-length.
Sir Ector and Shu Lewis had come through to give chase inside the final furlong and it was the later who won the battle for the runner-up spot by a head late on.
The winner was landing a hat-trick after two easy victories at the Curragh last month and remains in classic contention.
“They went a good gallop, he arrived travelling well and he just does enough,” was trainer Michael Halford's assessment.
“The Irish Leger is a possibility as is the English. He may go to York now for the Great Voltigeur.”
