No match for Facile Vega and company in a Grade 2 bumper at Leopardstown last month, Da Capo Glory (11/8 fav) was himself a facile winner of the second split of the Goresbridge Maiden Hurdle.
Having raced in second under Darragh Allen, the Fame And Glory gelding took over before the second-last and bounded clear to beat Caldwell Diamond by twenty-four lengths.
Allen had partnered the hurdling debutant to win a bumper at Galway last October.
Winning trainer Padraig Butler, based in Timoleague Co. Cork, said: "He ran well against Facile Vega in Leopardstown and it was obviously a drop in level today.
“He jumps very well and is a nicely bred horse. He’ll be a lovely horse over two miles or two and a half miles going forward.
“We might run him in a novice in about a month. I’ll discuss it with the (Red Strand) syndicate and make a plan.
“We have three horses at the moment and Fons Vivus won a bumper at Mallow in January. We’ll probably get her out again in a few weeks.”
