Bumper and maiden hurdle victor Here For The Craic was rewarded for his consistency since switched to the Flat, in the Music After Racing September 20th Maiden. It was hardly surprising to see the placed point-to-pointer enjoy the mile six furlong trip in the finale at Gowran.
Jack Kennedy 's mount shared favouritism with Cillian's Return but it was third market choice Queen Alphabet that put up most resistance.
Here For The Craic got on top in the final furlong to get the better of Queen Alphabet by two and a quarter lengths.
Peter Fahey trains Queen Alphabet, and his other representative, Owega Star was six and a half lengths back in third. Cillian's Return was another length and a quarter back in fourth.
Winning trainer Ken Budds said: "He seems to be improving. The mile six was no bother to him and I'd say he'd get further.
"If a nice hurdle race came up we might stick him in it."
The Connery Family Syndicate were on hand to welcome back their winner, and they're from Clashmore near Youghal.
