Cosmic takes opener at Navan
The opening race this afternoon at Navan, the navanracecourse.ie Handicap was won by the Ger Lyons trained Cosmic Breeze in the hands of Kieran O'Neill.
Promising seven pound claimer O'Neill sent the Fasilyev filly to the front one furlong out and kept on strongly to score by a length and three quarters.
Winning trainer Lyons said afterwards: "She was given to me as a present from Mrs Bettina of Anamoine."
"She's after growing and maturing this year, she was entitled to win on her last run and she deserved it."
"She's a long way down the handicap since her maiden win and I just hope the handicapper doesn't crucify her."
"She's run enough times for him to know how good she is."
