Jockey Conor Brassil bridged a gap of 11 months between wins when steering a second winner for Henry De Bromhead today, on Cornerkova (11/1) in Clonmel's Bulmers Zero Beginners Chase.
The daughter of Sholokhov was a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle winner last September and today benefitted from a Limerick reappearance run last month when scoring under a patient ride, and by four lengths, from Ferdia (5/4f).
Afterwards De Bromhead said “she seems to have come on and Rachael (Blackmore) was delighted with her in Limerick and felt she'd be way better over fences than what she had done over hurdles. We were hoping that she would and it is great to see it and I'm delighted for the Cloud Nine Syndicate and Conor (Brassil).
“She is a lovely mare and has handled quicker summer ground in the past.”
