Cornas wins Pricewaterhousecoopers Chase
Nick Williams' English raider Cornas landed the Pricewaterhousecoopers Chase at Limerick today, winning well under Wexford born jockey Darryl Jacobs.
The son of Prized jumped well and stayed on best in the straight for a three lengths win over Cruising Katie Five to four favourite Let Yourself Go disappointed badly on his seasonal debut, trailing in last of the five runners.
Williams was not present for the win but Jacobs did state "we got to the front a little too soon today but the race was largely run to suit him as there was a good pace in the race. He is a very good horse in his own right but was just five or six pounds short of the top league last season. Hopefully he can make the step up this year."
