Trainer Ross O'Sullivan continued his rich vein of recent form when sending out Ceanndana to win the Curraghmore Beginners Chase at Tramore.

A dual winner over hurdles around this time last year, the son of Leading Light is at his best on a sound surface.

With a dry night and sunshine in the South East, the better ground proved much more suitable than the softer conditions the gelding had been faced with earlier in the year.

Following a very promising second on his recent return at Downpatrick, the 11/4f went one better this evening.

Tracking the early pace under Keith Donoghue, Ceanndana moved closer on the final circuit, as main market rival Coillte Aris crashed out with a lap still to race.

Moving second five from the finish, Ceanndana led approaching the bypassed second last fence, before staying on for a comfortable four length win.

Keith Donoghue said: "It was straightforward and we went a good gallop. He is after taking a couple of runs to get his confidence up. He jumped well today and it went according to plan.

"He is a summer horse and wants nice ground. If he can keep progressing and get more confidence jumping hopefully he can pick up another one."
