Cardamon Hill (13/2) upstaged some better fancied rivals, as he claimed the Jack de Bromhead Memorial Maiden Hurdle on what was his debut over flights.
Never far from the pace, the Gordon Elliott trained six-year-old kept to the inner throughout under Jordan Gainford.
In a share of the lead from the third last, he hit the front after the next and kept on well from there, going on to score by nine lengths.
Sent off the 4/5 favourite, Lisnagar Fortune was disputing the lead when making a bad mistake two out and he eventually had to settle for the runner-up berth under Paul Townend.
There was a further length and three parts back to Lucky Zebo (28/1) in third, with Mikey O’Connor aboard this one for Henry de Bromhead.
De Bromhead was also responsible for Kap D'attente (16/5) who disappointingly pulled up.
"He is a grand big straightforward horse," Gainford said.
"His point-to-point form was good and he had been second twice on the track since. He jumped well today and kept at it nicely. He looks a nice one going forward."
