Cape Blanco makes it a winning debut
Cape Blanco from the Aidan O'Brien stable made it a winning debut when landing The Blanchardstown Race in the hands of Seamie Heffernan.
Heffernan raced the Galileo colt in behind the leaders, progress approaching straight, ridden to lead inside final furlong and kept on well to hold off the 5/4 favourite Baglioni from the Ger Lyons stable by a neck.
Winning trainer O'Brien was absent but Heffernan commented, "I'd say he's a very good horse, he got a little bit green when he came off the bridle."
