Local horse Cairdiuil enhanced an already impressive Galway record when landing a punt in the Tote Trifecta Rollover Handicap under Wayne Lordan.
Taking his score to two wins and three placings from six efforts around Ballybrit, Iggy Madden's 9/1 shot (from much bigger last night) got the better of Tahaf by a length and a quarter.
Madden reflected after the Jim Bolger-bred eight-year-old's win: "I love to win races here, Ballinrobe or at Sligo.
"That's this horses mark – once he goes any higher he finds it hard.
"He's a great breaker and he had a nice draw in six.
"He's entered again on Sunday but he probably had a hard enough race there. We'll just have to see how he comes out of this."
