Cailin Annamh brought up her hat-trick when swooping in the last 100 yards of the featured two and a half mile mares’ hurdle at Gowran Park.

The 5/2 shot came with a storming run under Barry Geraghty to collar 11/8 favourite Jennies Jewel and win going away by three parts of a length.

"She was good. She had a lot of weight and she had to give the second weight. She is tough and genuine and she just about got away with the ground as she is really a good ground filly,” handler Jessica Harrington said.

“She has had a great summer and we will see about where she goes next. She has been on the go a good while now, since before Aintree. It would be nice to get some blacktype over hurdles with her. There is a graded race in England that she might go for."

Punters seemed concerned about the five-year-old mare performing as well on the soft ground here as she was relatively friendless in the betting markets earlier today when drifting out to 11/4 from 15/8, before being sent off at 5/2. Little King Robin (12/1), who had cut out the pace, faded to third on the run-in.

This winner gave trainer Jessica Harrington a 30.5/1 Gowran Park double courtesy of Gambling Girl taking the opener at 8/1.

Barry Geraghty is now 3-3 on board Cailin Annamh. She won on her last two runs at Kilbeggan in September and August. This was her fifth career victory.
