Brown Butterfly stayed on stoutly in the closing stages to land the Costello Tavern Race at Tipperary.

Declan McDonogh sent his mount to the front turning for home in the 1m1f contest and she stuck on gamely.

Kevin Prendergast 's charge pulled clear inside the final furlong to record a two-and-a-half length success over 5/2 favourite Joe Eile

The winning trainer was not on hand to welcome back his charge.
