Gold Bullet was delivered with a well-timed run by Andrew Lynch to take the feature event at Clonmel this evening.

Tom Taaffe 's gelding has been well fancied for the Kim Muir at Cheltenham last month but finished well beaten after finding trouble in running.

He bounced back to form in the Suir Valley Chase to record his second victory over fences.

Lynch tracked the leaders before improving to challenge at the second last. You Must Know Me crashed out when in contention at the penultimate fence and Gold Bullet edged ahead from front-runner Baily Green going to the last.

The 9/2 shot (11/2 this morning) kept on well on the run-in to record a two-and-a-half length victory.

"I'm delighted for the horse as he had a race at Cheltenham and it's always a worry running three weeks later," said Taaffe.

"He was the youngest of these and you'd be hoping he'd run a stout race and while the track wouldn't suit him, he travelled and jumped today.

"It's one of those races that if you ran it tomorrow you'd get three different results but little apples will do us at the moment! He'll probably run in a two and a half miles handicap chase at Punchestown next." Make A Track was sent off the 9/4 favourite but weakened after a mistake three from home and finished last of the four finishers.
