Dylan Browne McMonagle doubled up at Ballinrobe when driving Hattie Amarin past No Thanks close home in the apprentice handicap.

No Thanks did his work from the front under Sam Ewing with Hattie Amarin improving to track them with a circuit to go.

Hattie Amarin was pushed along with less than three furlongs to go and ridden outside the two pole but found for his jockey as she ground down No Thanks (10/3) to get up by half a length at 5/1.

No Thanks finished runner-up for the third race in a row. He was a length and a half clear of Assam (22/1).

Tom Fahey, father of winning trainer Mark Fahey, said: "We were more hopeful than confident. A big mare like her around a tight track was a worry. They've done a brilliant job with the ground. It was ideal, good, safe, quick ground.

"She will mix it between the hurdles and the flat for the rest of the summer and into the autumn. We will let her off then. Mark is at home looking after things and I got the day off today!"

Browne McMonagle earlier scored on Big Challenge in the claimer.
