Brown Pete outstays market leader
Paul Flynn's Brown Pete came with a late finish to deprive 5/4 hot favourite Charpoy in Dundalk's opening one mile maiden at the odds of 25/1.
Jockey Padraig Beggy collared the longtime leader a hundred yards out to win by a length. Unique Style was a further three-and-a-half lengths back in third.
Breeder Jim Halligan whose wife Mary owns Brown Pete said: "He has been working impressively at home. We just weren't sure what ground would be best for him but he absolutely loved the surface here."
